The P3 system
P3 supports all of the standard and proprietary card types, as well as the major card scheme application standards and multiple easy configurable input (embossing) and output (EMV enriched) file formats.
There are two typical configurations an end-to-end solution (for in-house issuing, batch and instant issuing) and an in-house data preparation solution with outsource card production (for external personalization by a vendor).
Both these configurations reduce risk by allowing the issuer to keep control of its master keys (security in-house) and accommodate business innovation demands, flexibility and speed to market.
For those Issuers who need to upgrade from SDA to DDA cards, P3 server support multiple crypto modules, RSA key generation and key caching, enabling issuers to provide the same SLA (service levels) for DDA cards as for SDA cards.
Key benefits of utilizing the P3 solution are:
Delivers 100% in-house control over cryptographic keys
Supports all major card association payment applications
Generates keys and EMV parameters from existing magnetic stripe files
Supports instant issuance and on-demand replacement of cards
RSA key generation with key caching
Flexible output format to support personalization of MULTOS, GlobalPlatform and proprietary single/multi-application cards
P3 supports the following applications of the major card associations:
American Express – AEIPS, ExpressPay
CUP
Discover – D-PAS, ZIP
JCB – J/Smart, J/Speedy
Mastercard – M/Chip Lite, M/Chip 2 Select, M/Chip 4, M/Chip Flex, M/Chip Advance, PayPass
Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) – MADA
Union Pay – PBOC
Visa – VSDC (SDA or DDA), qVSDC, MSD, VMPA, payWave
P3 supports the EMV authentication applications:
Mastercard – CAP (chip authentication program)
Visa – DPA (dynamic passcode authentication)
P3 supports other applications through the GlobalPlatform scripting language. It also uses an extended version of the GlobalPlatform scripting language to support data generation for MULTOS applications.
