Barnes International, a global smart card test tool leader and supplier to banks, issuers, card manufacturers, personalisation bureaus and test laboratories, is pleased to announce their Managing Director, Brian Summerhayes, has been recognised by the  International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA) with the 2016 ICMA Outstanding Member Service Award.  The Award was presented at the recent annual ICMA EXPO in Orlando, Florida.

Experts in the development of EMV chip card and magnetic strip test tools, Barnes solutions are used worldwide by card manufacturers and test laboratories to assure the development and manufacture of high-quality cards which meet ISO, CQM, EMV and payment scheme requirements.  Joining the ICMA in July 1995, Barnes has been a long standing and active member of the association.

‘I’m delighted to receive such a prestigious award,’ says Brian Summerhayes. ‘When Barnes originally joined the ICMA, it seemed like an invaluable opportunity to extend our industry network and share knowledge. In reality, the partnership has far exceeded our greatest expectations, helping us to grow our brand and introducing us to some of the world’s leading card manufacturers and issuers.  Receiving any award is always wonderful, but receiving an award from an organisation which I have so much respect for is truly special.’

In acknowledging Brian Summerhayes’ and Barnes International’s contribution to the industry, Jeff Barnhart of ICMA said: ‘Brian goes above and beyond for ICMA on an ongoing basis. He co-chaired the 2015 EuroForum and was the chair of the personalisation track at this year’s ICMA EXPO.  Brian also helped maintain ICMA’s stand at Cartes, Paris. He has been very active with recruitment efforts, having helped to recruit some new members and attendees in Europe. To put it simply, Brian is always there to support the ICMA with a number of things without hesitation.’

ICMA is a global non-profit association of over 230 card manufacturers, personalisers, suppliers, issuers and other industry participants. A forum for education, networking, idea-sharing, and collaboration, the organisation is widely considered to be a hub for all companies represented in the global card industry.
