Barnes to speak about importance of EMV card personalization testing at CARTES AMERICA
Barnes International, a global smart card test tool leader and supplier to Banks, Pill Issuers, Card Manufacturers, Personalization Bureaus and Test Laboratories, will be speaking and exhibiting at CARTES SECURE CONNEXIONS AMERICA, taking place May 5 -7 2015 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. In a significant year for the US cards industry, an anticipated 2000 payments specialists will attend the conference to discuss the latest developments in security, mobile and advanced payments, and of course the status of EMV deployment.
With over 20 years’ experience of supporting organizations involved in EMV card issuance, Barnes has been advising and training US banks and card issuers on the steps they should take to smooth the migration from magnetic stripe debit and credit payment cards to chip cards. A crucial part of the process is understanding the differing payment scheme EMV card personalization requirements, and what it takes to achieve payment scheme accreditation first time, which is where Barnes’ expertise comes in.
In addition to EMV training and consultancy services, Barnes is a leading provider of EMV chip test tools and magnetic stripe analyzers. Visitors to Barnes booth (#300) will see why:
- card manufacturers and test laboratories rely on them to ensure the development and manufacture of high-quality contact, contactless and dual interface cards and mobile payment applications which meet ISO, CQM and EMV requirements.
- banks, issuers and personalization bureaus use them to speed up payment scheme accreditation and to test their chip debit and credit cards and mobile payment products meet the requirements of their chosen payment scheme, such as American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa.
As part of the Exhibitor Presentation Program, Brian Summerhayes, Managing Director, Barnes International will be speaking on Tuesday, May 5 at 2.00pm about EMV and card testing. With banks in the US in the early stages of EMV migration, this presentation will clarify the necessity for EMV card testing, and highlight the benefits that testing can bring to a financial institution’s card business. It will outline the various types of card testing and provide practical guidance from experience of rolling out EMV migration programs in the US and other regions of the world.
Brian comments: “The US cards and payments sector is hungry for information and advice on how to tackle the requirements imposed on them to migrate to more secure chip cards, which is a move we fully endorse. As a UK-headquartered company, we have been involved in the evolution of EMV from the outset, and are therefore well placed to share best practice at this critical time. We invite CARTES SECURE CONNEXIONS AMERICA delegates to visit our booth so we can demonstrate the ways in which we can help them to deliver quality-assured and payment scheme accredited EMV card programs”.
