CPT v.4.2.0 Software Update

A new software update for CPT v.4 has been issued to continue to improve the functionality and build on the success of the platform. CPT v.4.2.0 is now available to download, to support both the Visa Global Self-Service and Mastercard PVT modules.

Key enhancements include;

Visa Global Self-Service PVT Module

Visa Fleet has been added to the Visa Global PVT Test Set and some minor bug issues have been corrected.

Mastercard PVT Module

A new Profile Advisor Rule Set 330 Dependency has been added. This includes test case updates to format of Track 2 Discretionary Data (Tag ‘9F20’) from ‘alphanumeric’ to ‘compressed numeric’.

Plus, there have been some minor bug fixes including;

  • Tool correction for Track 2 Discretionary Data (Tag 9F20) reporting errors when padded.
  • Improved detection of TLV Errors through the Exists Operator

CPT v.4 Platform

In addition, there have been some updates to the CPT v.4 platform, including the   3k7 reader lights now indicating that the interface is undergoing tests through the use of colours and also the speed of the lights flashing.

The Search function also now opens up Report to find all entries, making it easier to see everything in one place.

Downloading Software

Both Visa Global and Mastercard require the use of the latest Barnes International software for personalisation validation testing of their cards.

We highly recommend that all users update their existing software installation immediately to take advantage of the latest enhancements. Simply click on the relevant button on our Support page.

For the Mastercard module, please ensure the correct rule set is used;

  • CPT 4.1.x uses MC profile rule set 320-325
  • CPT 4.2.x uses MC profile rule set 330+
